Welcome to the Quarterly Newsletter

2024 is off to a wonderful start! Check out what we have been up to the last couple of months and be sure to connect with us on social media!

Staff members Soldy and Ashley spread the love on Valentine's Day by delivering heart-shaped balloons to all of our young ladies.

Spotlight on Casa V

Congratulations to our esteemed board chair Sharon Langer for being named the 2024 Cindy Lederman Humanitarian Hero at this year's Annual Regional Child Welfare Conference. We are lucky to count her among our most dedicated champions for youth.

Not only did our staff present about the challenges and opportunities facing youth after they age out, but some of our current and former residents also presented and were in attendance! A truly special day for all.

Our Partners, Our Champions

St. Stephen's

We are counting our blessings! Thanks to our dedicated partners at St. Stephen's, our 1st Annual Career Night was a hit! Parent volunteers from the school generously came together to share their careers, expertise and advice to our burgeoning young professionals. What a beautiful way to give back!

Thank you to volunteers Liz Baker and Ms. Bernice for the beautiful and heart-felt gift baskets! Our young men and women truly felt appreciated!

Dedicated students from the National Junior Honors Society at St. Michael's generously donated goodies to our residents for St. Valentine's Day. Thank you, Ms. Davila and Ms. Matos for coordinating this lovely donation.

Nu Deco Ensemble

What a wondrous night of music and magic! Thank you to our friends at the Nu Deco Ensemble for tickets to the concert featuring Joy Oladokun. It was a great show that provided an access point to classical music for all young people. They blended modern and classical music together to create a sound that made all tap their feet!

Museum of Graffiti

Our youth LOVE to explore their creativity, so naturally we took them to the Museum of Graffiti to learn more about the museum's efforts to preserve the history and celebrate the emergence of this art form in design, fashion, advertising and galleries. Everyone had a blast!

Gamebred Youth

Our young men had a phenomenal time with the mentors and coaches of Gamebred Youth, an organization empowering youth and counteracting the negative social determinants of health. Strong minds and strong bodies!

Complex Health & Wellness

THANK YOU to the amazing team at Complex Health & Wellness for hosting our young men and women! While there, our residents received health tips and personalized training to help them break through barriers and thrive on the road to physical well-being.

Ms. Bree

Wellness requires a heart and mind at peace. Thank you, Ms. Bree, for sharing your expertise and hosting a great yoga session in the park for our youth! Everyone reported feeling relaxed after the session!
