Sharing the love of Jesus with children around the world through Christian education
A Team Effort

July, 2019
.... Collaborating with Fellow Workers
"Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together... encouraging one another all the more as you see the Day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25)

These verses are often used to encourage Christians to regularly attend church so that they gather around God's Word and spend time lifting up and supporting fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Yet, they also apply to leaders in church and school ministry. When the called workers meet together, spend time in the Word and in prayer, and discuss and make plans around common goals, the workers and the ministries receive multiple blessings.
A recent and major emphasis for LeadaChild has been to encourage and facilitate this kind of collaboration - within individual ministries and with other project sites (in country and with neighboring countries).
Pray for the pastors, national directors, and project site leaders who serve at all of our project sites. They are working faithfully to build up the body of Christ and advance our goal of sharing Christ's love with the children and families in their communities.

Welcome to the Team
We welcome Lisa Hellyer and Rev. Steve Massey to LeadaChild!
LIsa Hellyer has accepted a call to serve as our first Director of Engagement and Outreach. She will work on strengthening our donor base here in the states and setting up and supervising regular mission trips for interested individuals, church groups, and educators who want to visit our project sites in various countries. Lisa has been serving for several years at Lord of Life in Leawood, KS and has organized and led multiple mission trips to our ministry site in Haiti.

Steve Massey will be serving as a pastoral missionary to the church and school in Santiago Zamora, Guatemala. He will also assist our leadership team with the development of our LeadaChild sites in that region. Steve's support is being gathered through Global Lutheran Outreach (GLO).
Steve has extensive experience with Hispanic ministry and is well connected with leadership throughout Guatemala.

Keep these two in your prayers as they come on board to help us with our mission and ministry.
A Great Symposium!
In June, 120 educators and leaders from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, and the Dominican Republic gathered in Antigua, Guatemala for a time of professional development, collaboration, and fellowship.

Guest speakers Mitchell Germain (Founder of Zing Apps), Ben Tino (music teacher in Zacapa), and Christel Andrews (Occupational therapist / teacher), along with our presentations from the Master Lutheran Teacher Series provided wonderful opportunities for learning.

The pastors from participating ministries led our devotions and a time of worship. Our national Leadachild leadership team in Guatemala, led by Pastor Luis Jasinto and Nury (our Director of Latin American Projects) did an excellent job of organizing and hosting all of our guests and visitors.

This symposium was the first gathering of ACLEA, the newly developed educators' association for Latin America.

LeadaChild is busy creating and leading various workshops for educators and leaders. We see our role as supporters and encouragers to those whom God has called to share Christ's love and offer quality educational experiences for the children at our project sites.

Thanks to grants from various groups and foundations, such as LWML, The Grace Foundation, and The Lorenz foundation, we have a full line up of workshops through the remainder of the year ... in El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Chile, and Sierra Leone.

Pray that our humble efforts to build up these international workers create great dividends of hope and joy as children are connected to Christ through these educational ministries.
