In June, 120 educators and leaders from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, and the Dominican Republic gathered in Antigua, Guatemala for a time of professional development, collaboration, and fellowship.
Guest speakers Mitchell Germain (Founder of Zing Apps), Ben Tino (music teacher in Zacapa), and Christel Andrews (Occupational therapist / teacher), along with our presentations from the
Master Lutheran Teacher Series provided wonderful opportunities for learning.
The pastors from participating ministries led our devotions and a time of worship.
Our national Leadachild leadership team in Guatemala, led by Pastor Luis Jasinto and Nury (our Director of Latin American Projects) did an excellent job of organizing and hosting all of our guests and visitors.
This symposium was the first gathering of
ACLEA, the newly developed educators' association for Latin America.
LeadaChild is busy creating and leading various workshops for educators and leaders. We see our role as supporters and encouragers to those whom God has called to share Christ's love and offer quality educational experiences for the children at our project sites.
Thanks to grants from various groups and foundations, such as LWML, The Grace Foundation, and The Lorenz foundation, we have a full line up of workshops through the remainder of the year ... in El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Chile, and Sierra Leone.
Pray that our humble efforts to build up these international workers create great dividends of hope and joy as children are connected to Christ through these educational ministries.
