How long have you been coming to The Bar Method Hoboken?  
I have been a Bar Method Client since January 2017.

What is your favorite thing about The Bar Method?  
There are so many things I love about The Bar Method. Firstly, all the staff know you by name! I love the workout - it challenges and tones you yet does not leave you feeling burnt out. I was enrolled in a dance studio from ages 4-18 and Bar Method incorporates everything that I have always loved about exercise. It provides that fun filled class aspect with elements from dance. All the instructors and staff are high energy and compassionate people who push you in the most positive way. I always feel comfortable and supported when coming to class no matter who is instructing the class. It also doesn't hurt that the studio is absolutely gorgeous and right next to the path! I only live a few blocks away so you can find me there almost everyday. 

What is your favorite Bar Method exercise?  
Arabesque! I love arabesque because I really feel the shake in this move and I think it looks really elegant. I am pretty flexible so I get to show off my stuff when doing this exercise. I am always excited to take the challenge option to lift my arm and relevĂ© when we do our last 20 lifts. I know that I will burn some calories when this move comes up in class.

How do you balance Bar with work?  
I work in financial technology at global investment bank on Wall Street and have come across patches where I have had long hours or days and sometimes weeks. The Bar Method Hoboken offers many classes every single day which is what makes coming daily manageable. If I know I will have to work late then I take a 6:30am class, if I can work from home then I take a lunch class, or if I manage to sneak out early then I can easily book a night class. The studio offers more than enough classes - sometimes I find that making time for yourself is what the challenge is! Your body and mind are connected in personal well being so I always remind myself that I have to take that one hour for myself no matter what is happening around me.

How has Bar impacted your life?  
Bar Method has impacted my life in the most positive way. I
was always an active person throughout my life but when I started
my first job in 2013 I packed on the pounds immediately. Over the last
couple years I struggled trying to diet/exercise and lose the weight but
failed every time that I tried. I was really starting to lose hope but
during the first week of this past January when I was walking home from the path I passed the Bar Method studio and an advertisement for a 30 day unlimited class special. I decided that that I would give this a try and see how it goes. I took my first class with Marisa and had such a good time! I felt really welcomed to the studio and very comfortable during class. I was really excited to take the next class and ended up buying the unlimited monthly package after my first 30 days were up. Here I am today almost a year later nearly 200 classes in and 40+lbs lighter. Bar Method allowed me to get my body and life back - I am so thankful I found this supportive community that emphasizes girl power and being healthy. This is a place that helps you find a feeling of self worth and beauty inside and out.
