Dear Community Members,
On behalf of the Thurston County Food Bank, as we welcome a new year, I want to express our deepest gratitude for the extraordinary support we continue to receive from this community. Your kindness has made it possible for us to carry forward our mission to eliminate hunger in the spirit of neighbors helping neighbors.
As we reflect on the past year, we have seen visits to our pantries and satellite locations increase by nearly 30%. This growing need, combined with reductions in federal food assistance programs, has placed significant strain on our resources. Yet once again, our community answered the call. Through donations, food drives, volunteer hours, partnerships, and advocacy, you ensured that thousands of families had access to nourishing food. Every act of generosity, no matter the size, is a powerful reminder of the compassion that defines Thurston County.
Looking ahead to the year before us, we know challenges remain. We anticipate continued uncertainty around federal support, while unemployment and inflation make it harder for many individuals and families to put food on the table. Even so, we begin this new year with gratitude and hope, strengthened by the unwavering commitment you have shown.
We are honored to serve alongside you. Your dedication fuels our work each day and reminds us that when a community comes together, meaningful and lasting change is possible.
Thank you for standing with the Thurston County Food Bank and for helping us build a stronger, healthier, and more hopeful future in the year ahead.
With gratitude,
