A Thanksgiving Message
Dear Friends,

As the holidays approach, many of us are fortunate to look back at an eventful year with joy. Likewise, several of us have spent this year down on our luck and still searching for that silver lining. Regardless of the triumphs or losses we may have experienced, I find it necessary to acknowledge and celebrate every blessing, grand or small.

While reflecting on Monday’s luncheon and dinner, I’m reminded of why I began this tradition – community! “Serving with a Thankful Heart” is one of very few instances, where people from various walks of life come together, breaking bread in a spirit of fellowship. On Monday, people from all over the City of Long Beach: homeless, disabled, elderly, and young shared tables with one another, exchanging big smiles, tummy-aching laughter, and delicious food! It was incredible! I would like to thank everyone involved in making this wonderful event happen, we could not have done this without your help! I would also like to thank those that came out and ate with us; I hope you had as much fun as I did.

From my office to you and your family, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s use this time to acknowledge the things we have to be grateful for. Lastly, my challenge to you: give someone else a reason to be thankful this holiday season!
