An update from the BHSAA: November 21, 2023

Dear Barrington High School Alumni,

Happy Thanksgiving!

On behalf of the entire Barrington High School Alumni Association, thank you for making Homecoming 2023 a blast! So many classes came together to celebrate. From the Class of 1973 for their 50th reunion, to the Class of 2003 for their 20th reunion, it was great to see so many familiar faces. We wish you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season!

Homecoming 2023 Class Recaps

The Class of 1973 had a great turnout of 150 at its get-together at Moretti’s on Friday night. On Saturday, alumni dragged themselves out of bed to participate in the parade. They had a vintage truck, hay wagon, vintage Jaguar, and several walkers passing out candy. Many classmates enjoyed the alumni tailgate at Chessie’s. A group of about 15 - 20 were honored on the field at halftime of the varsity football game. The Class of '73 finished up Saturday night with a casual BYOB party with pizza at the Norge Ski Club. Classmates came from all parts of the country and Canada!

What a great Homecoming for the Class of 1983! Thank you to Mark Harris, who did a great job securing the '83 trailer for the parade, and the School Of Rock for playing live music the entire time. The Class of 1983 had four 5-gallon buckets of candy to hand out, plus numerous bags. Some classmates went to a picnic in Langendorf park. The weekend was filled with lots of hugs, pictures, and catching up with friends.

The Class of 1988 came together for its 35th Reunion weekend in force! Golfers and friends enjoyed Friday golf at Makray in Barrington, and Friday evening parties at homes, Moretti’s, and more. The Rock and Roll theme of the parade was perfect for the Class of '88! After the parade, alumni enjoyed a tour of the high school and the alumni tailgate at Chessie's. Saturday night’s main event was held at the Kelsey Road House, where nearly 100 ‘88ers marked themselves “present” on the group photo taken 35 years ago. This year was exciting in that 10 alumni who never had attended a reunion before joined in on the fun, with one classmate even coming in all the way from Denmark! It was truly a great crowd, coming together as they have since they first walked into BHS in 1984. The Class of 1988 looks forward to its 40th reunion!

The Class of 1993 had a wonderful weekend, participating in the parade down Main Street and the annual alumni tailgate at Chessie's!

The Class of 2003 celebrated their 20 year reunion at McGonigals on Friday, September 22. Attendance was great and graduates came in from near and far to catch up with old friends. Groups mingled and caught up on life. It was a night full of laughs, photos, toasts and memories. Cheers to 20 years and looking forward to the Class of ‘03 getting together again soon!
