Greetings!

We anticipate the 2023 holiday season together. A time for celebration and community, the winter holidays can also pose unique stresses - the absence of loved ones, tinges of regret, disappointment and more. We can embrace Thanksgiving as a beautiful reminder to begin in gratitude for this extended season of generosity and connection.

We renew our practice of gratitude and expressing thanks: for the workers who made possible the food that blesses our tables, for the friends, family, and community that surround us, and for all who came before us. We honor and give thanks to the ancestral stewards of the lands on which we now gather. The Railroad Creek Valley where Holden celebrates has existed for millennia, carved out by glaciers and defined by First People’s stewardship. We live and work upon the land of the Tsi-Laan, of the Enteatqua, the P’Squosa, of the Wenatchi-Colville and Wenatchi-Yakama Tribal Nations, who are our neighbors today, living, loving, and working in this region.

As we enter this holiday season, join us in giving thanks for all that came before us, all who are here now, and all that is yet to be. May we hold them in our hearts with reverence and gratefulness.

Faithfully,
Stacy Kitahata, Mark Bach, and Kathie Bach

Thanks for Supporting our Arts and Music Fund!
Thanks to the generous support of our community, the Village is alive with the sound of music!

With funds from the 2021 Jubilee Auction, the Village purchased new instruments for both worship and entertainment, replaced several audio cords and cables to keep sounds crisp and clear, and invested in cases to protect and maintain our new instruments so the music lasts as long as possible.

Two new ukuleles, two fiberglass shekeres, a set of bongos, cymbals with stands, and two new Alvarez guitars - which we named Simon (after Paul Simon) and Wilson (after Nancy Wilson of Heart) - and accompanying gear, will keep sounds of music alive all winter long!
Kiln Update
We are getting fired up this winter thanks to the kindness of a long time Holdenite!

Pottery was put on hold in the Village after the coils in both our large and small electric kilns went bad earlier this year. Thanks to the generosity and knowhow of a previous Village Potter, we are once again slinging pots and making beautiful works of art.

Thank you for supporting the arts!
