This holiday season we are filled with gratitude for your friendship and support. With assistance from loyal supporters like you, our Foundation’s team served over 2,000 breast cancer patients this year at our locations in Fremont, Livermore, and San Leandro.
We are honored to fulfill our mission and do so with compassion and dedication. We realize that this accomplishment was also made possible with our communities’ support. Fundraisers, private donations, and grants allowed us to meet our patients’ needs, including those who are the most vulnerable – individuals who are low income and under-insured. We know that no one facing breast cancer should struggle with accessing services and products such as prosthetics, wigs, and compression garments, and we are thankful that you value our efforts to restore breast cancer patients’ health and well-being.
Our work, however, is not done. Every day we see recently diagnosed patients as well as survivors who are in need – patients like “Sana” who underwent breast cancer surgery and feared that she could not afford her products’ co-insurance cost. Those fears were put to rest once she realized that our Assistance Programs could help her. For Sana, our programs and services were life-changing. In her words, HERS gave her “the gift of health and the confidence to go out into the world to work, to see friends and family, and to live my life.”
For those of you who contributed to our Foundation this year, please know that in so doing, you strengthened our patients as they navigated their cancer journey. We are beyond grateful to you.
