Dear MSP friends,

This Mother’s Day, we invite you to support the incredible mothers in our MSP community who bravely fled domestic abuse and are rebuilding their lives for themselves and their children. With the mayor’s planned budget cuts for emergency rental services and housing in DC, a gift from you this Mother’s Day will help us maintain the number of clients we serve in our emergency and transitional housing programs (currently, nearly 500 women and children.)
Moreover, your generosity allows us to grow the Fresh Start Fund, our dedicated source of financial support for survivors of domestic violence. Financial abuse is a major barrier to the women we serve gaining independence and safety for themselves and their children.
The Fresh Start Fund gives our clients cash payments, no strings attached, for big expenses that could otherwise derail their stability. In the last year, the Fresh Start Fund granted over $350,000 in requests from our clients, including employment training, tuition payments, car repairs, debt repayment, child care, school supplies, utility bills, and more.
A gift from you this Mother’s Day allows us to continue this lifeline for the clients we serve – please consider a donation to the Fresh Start Fund or our other programs today. Your support ensures families remain safely housed and lets the moms we serve know they have a community to lean on.

With gratitude,
