 "This is not your ordinary juggling show!"  Jester Jim takes the stage w ith a trunk full of props and a looping machine. Young and old will be glued to his every sound as he performs his amazing beatbox intro. Kids and adults alike will be talking about Jester Jim's wild antics for weeks!

ScienceTellers: Aliens!

Throughout this amazing intergalactic story, science experiments bring the story to life! In the second part of the show, go "behind the scenes" of the special effects and recreate the science experiments with the help of  audience  volunteers .
Discover the unbelievable world of physics and chemistry through exciting experiments, like:

  • Turning a liquid into solid "worms" through a chemical reaction.
  • Launching a potato into the air using Boyle's law.
  • Making a flying rocket using two common household chemicals.
  • Transferring energy between matter to create a "rainstorm."
  • And much more!
The show is rooted in  Next Generation Science Standards so you can be sure the content of the program supports the curriculum in the classroom.
 


Space! The Cosmos for Kids

Space! The Cosmos For Kids is a techno-space-dance-party for kids and teens. Each song includes dancing, music technology and information about our universe to a thumping beat. Audience members will meet aliens from outer space, sing about our solar system, participate in a rap battle with the sun, and learn about the differences between revolution and rotation. Each song in the 45-minute show is accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences designed to help kids learn and have fun at the same time.

Chalk the Walk

Spread some positivity and inspiration when you chalk the walk on the grounds of the library. Visit between noon and 6PM. Sidewalk chalk will be provided.  All ages welcome.

Want to lower your child's library card fines this summer? 
All children, ages 2-11, can participate in our Read Away Fines program, facilitated by our Reading Buddies volunteers. Register at the children's desk for an appointment with a volunteer and every 20 minutes your child reads during their appointment, $0.20 is taken off their fines!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The concept is simple,

The Sayreville Public Library circulates museum passes to
Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton,
the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in NYC, and 
the Battleship New Jersey in Camden.

 Pass policies
Passes will be checked out for 2 days (example: check a pass out on Monday and it will be due back on Wednesday). 
 Reservations may be made up to 2 months in advance by speaking with a reference librarian.
