Paula B. made these awesome cards from old newspaper clippings! What a creative but simple way to spark joy and bring back memories. You can find a lot of inspiration at the LAI Facebook Group.

Happy Sunday, Shreya!

Last week, I promised a big announcement. We'll get there, but first, let's celebrate! In the past two weeks, we have written to 95% of the seniors we serve around the world, and to each and every senior we serve in the US & Israel. In other words, we have written over 7,000 letters in the past two weeks! If we can keep this up, we will finally be able to reopen ourselves to accepting nursing homes' requests for us to write to their seniors.

Help Us Reach More Seniors!

If we can hit 90% completion on this cycle's spreadsheet, the Letters Against Isolation team will be able to start reaching out to nursing homes and senior centers in the 22 US states we do not yet write to. I'm sure we can hit this target together!

A Special Announcement!

We are excited to announce our first new program as a non-profit, The Stamp Fund! This program will eventually allow volunteers with budgetary constraints to request the stamps they need to volunteer with LAI on a monthly basis. As we pilot this program, work out its kinks and fundraise to support it, this program will only be available to students in the US. We hope to expand to our Canadian students and adult volunteers very soon!

Students may apply for stamps for the month of February by filling out this form. Applications will close on Friday, January 21st at 11:59 EST. All information shared will be strictly protected and shared only with the adult volunteer liaison tasked with distributing stamps. Students who receive stamps will be asked to send a photo of their stamped and addressed envelopes before February 20, when the following month's Stamp Request Form is distributed.

This program has been funded by a number of generous donations from our Corporate supporters. If you would like to contribute to it, please let us know in the comment portion of our online donation page, or in writing with your cheque.

We started this program to ensure that everyone who would like to write letters is able to write them. We have a limited number of stamps to send and want to make sure that they are going to those who need them.

Thank you for choosing to volunteer with us. I am always so amazed by the incredible work each of you does. This year, we're only going to keep growing, and finding new ways to spread joy to our seniors.

Have fun writing,

Shreya
