β€œThe voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."

Marcel Proust

An attitude of discovery opens our eyes to the qualities of the Upper East Side of Texas. Whether we find talents and treasures in nearby towns or within ourselves, the right outlook can often provide surprising and encouraging results.

This issue of the WEEKLY discusses two attractions where discovery has led to a deeper understanding of local culture and heritage β€” the Caddo Mounds State Historic Site and the San Augustine town square. Encountering the past at places like these creates a more accurate foundation on which to build the future.

Let County Line Magazine guide your discovery of the region's heritage and present culture. Our eMagazine  offers new stories about people and their ideas every week and our calendar includes the latest events, exhibits, and shows. β€” Lisa Tang
