A WEEKEND FULL OF FISHING!

This past weekend we had the pleasure of having the Hooked on Heroes', Take Veterans Fishing Event, at the Sea Hag! So many veterans had the best time fishing on the water thanks to the wonderful team of volunteers! Steinhatchee also had two other events this past weekend as well, the Nauti-Girls Fishing Tournament and the Fear the Spear Spearfishing Tournament at Fiddlers. Both had awesome turnouts! Results & photos from all the events are below!

Deserae Williams hooked up on a bonefish while fishing in the Nauti-Girls Fishing Tournament on Saturday here in Steinhatchee!

This is one of the first bonefish we've seen in our area! Bill & Sheila Rees also caught a few bonefish this past weekend!

The Farmers went fishing with Capt. Brett Molzen and packed the board with trout, redfish & a flounder! (Note Flounder closed on October 15th, photo is from earlier in the week).

Capt. Brett Molzen caught a sennet on his trip over the weekend! We have never seen one in Steinhatchee before.

Sea Hag Marina sponsors this RACE every year which runs early morning of the Florida Forest Festival.

Above is the line up of events for the 2023 Florida Redfish Series! The series is a string of tournaments where anglers complete by weighing in redfish. All redfish are released following weigh-in.

HOOKED ON HEROES, TAKE VETERANS FISHING EVENT

What a wonderful day!

We had the pleasure of having the Hooked on Heroes crew today, a non-profit organization that serves veterans and puts together fishing trips each year. With the help of several sponsors and volunteers, they provided fishing trips today at no cost to the veterans! Hooked on Heroes takes pride in giving back to those who fought for our freedom. It looks like everyone had such a fun day! We would like to thank Ron Cadle and his crew, along with the many volunteers who helped make today great!

"FEAR THE SPEAR" SPEARFISHING TOURNAMENT

Fiddler's put on the first-ever Spearfishing tournament in Steinhatchee, Fear the Spear! Divers came back with some serious STUD fish! They were able to raise money for our local Boys and Girls Club. Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in the event!
