A Warm, Warm Welcome to Vadnais Extended Day!

We are so excited to welcome all families to our Extended Day program here at Vadnais Heights Elementary.   We have many returning friends, and many new friends joining us for the very first time! We are gearing up, planning fun and engaging activities to ensure many interesting choices for your kiddos! We look forward to seeing and meeting you all!  In this newsletter you will find some important information. Even if your child has been in Extended Day before we ask that you take the time to read it through. Tuesday, September 3rd  @ Birch-Registration CLOSED. Wednesday, September 4th  @ Birch-Registration CLOSED. Kindergarten only. Monday, October 7th  @ Lakeaires-Register by September 23rd. (Field Trip to PINZ this day).  Thursday October 17th and Friday October 18th  @ Lakeaires-Register by October 3rd. (Field trip to Children's Museum 10/18)

What Should I Bring the First Day??   A Big Smile! Weather you've been in Extended Day before, or it's your first time - we are so excited to have you hear! Student Questionnaire ( click here ) T his will help us get to know your child as they begin the school year!  Authorization for Administration of Medication ( click here ) We only need this form if your child will be using any type of medication during their time with us this school year. It must be signed by a physician.

Come Prepared for Active Play! We plan to get the kiddos moving every day! This means some time will be spent in the gym or outside every day! ! We have a terrific Active Play curriculum that we will be using. Ask about "Playworks" if you're interested! Please have your child bring or wear tennis shoes every day. Tennis shoes are required for active play in the gym. There are times when we ALL go outside, so please make sure your children are prepared with jackets or hoodies for chilly mornings and afternoons!

Where To Go and What To Do !

We open at 6:30 AM and close at 6:00 PM on days that school is in session. Please enter Door D (Right of Main Doors). This is where our Family Check In/Out Table is located and where you will sign your child in & out on the iPad each time. If we are not at the parent table, there will be a sign posted as to where to find us! We will also post all newsletters, menus, and information about upcoming events in this area. There is a Family Communication Log available to leave us notes as well, such as if your child will not be attending program, etc. Thank you!

Remember, an adult must sign your child in and out. Staff will ask for ID, especially if the adult is someone we haven't met yet to ensure they are authorized to pickup your child. Your child may not sign themselves in or out. If your child will be absent please call, email, or leave a note with us in the Family Communication Binder. Please be aware that you must inform both school day and extended day when you will be absent. The office staff doesn’t always know/remember which children are in in our care after school.

**If we are not notified of a PM absence and have to locate your chi ld, you will be charged a $15 Finder's Fee. If you arrive after 6:00 PM to pick your child up you will be charged a late fee.

Pick Your Day Contract Information Please make sure you enter Pick Your Day contract requests into our Eleyo system at least 7 days  prior to the first day you'd like to to use our child care. If entered after the seven day window, you will be invoiced at the drop in rate. You may pick your days several months in advance, if you know when you will need care. Did You Know... That at Extended Day we purposefully and deliberately provide several choices of activities for your children every day? Giving them choices helps them feel like they have power and control over what they do, and this is a big step in growing up. We offer STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), literacy, active play, creative expression, camps, clubs and dramatic play every week. Your child is able to choose from these options based on what sparks his/her interest!

Drop-In Contract Information Please enter Drop-in requests into the Eleyo system a minimum of 24 hours in advance. A confirmation email will be sent to you once the request is approved. If you DO NOT receive a confirmation email, the request is not approved. Families are expected to provide communication with the child's classroom teacher of any changes in after-school care arrangements with Extended Day.  What to do When School is Out? A complete list of non-school day (NSD) programming options can be found here . These days offer care from 6:30 AM until 6:00 PM and sometimes include a FUN field trip! You can register for these days in Eleyo at any time, remembering to pay attention to the deadlines for registration. The deadlines are also the last date you can withdraw your child from the NSD without being charged. Once a registration deadline has passed, you are not guaranteed childcare and may be put on a wait list.

Billing Tuition should be paid promptly! Auto pay is available via the Eleyo system. Late fees will be assessed to accounts not paid in full- if you have any questions regarding billing, or need assistance getting set up in auto pay, please contact our billing department at [email protected] They can also be reached via phone at 651-407-7511. This is also who you should contact for registration and contract change questions. Reminder: Payments are due on 15th of the month!
