Hi, there!
It’s been a busy summer, creating new artworks, camping with family, and doing a little traveling. Since my last newsletter, I've completed two new artworks. The first, titled Pipe Organ, was inspired from visiting the Colorado National Monument a couple of years ago and is named after one of the rock features in the park.

This artwork is included in my National Park Art Collection, which features images of our national parks and national monuments.
The second artwork is titled The Cliffs Waterfall and was inspired from a trip to Kauai, Hawaii two years ago. We were staying at The Cliffs condo complex near Princeville and my daughter, wife, and myself found a lightly worn trail down the side of the cliff, leading to the ocean below. When we were about two-thirds of the way down the cliff, we found this beautiful waterfall. Most people would never know that it exists…we were just fortunate to find it.
This artwork is now part of my Hawaii Art Collection.

A question I am often asked is, What is a 3-Dimensional Painting? This is my unique form of artwork where I first draw an image, then transfer it to a piece of select wood, and carve the image into the wood, in relief, then skillfully paint the image.
I have created the following flyer that I now send along with photos of my artwork when applying for an art show at an art museum, art center, or a juried art show. In all my travels and participation in art shows, I have never seen anyone else creating this kind of art, which makes it very unique and original.

In today’s environment, I think that we could all use a laugh, or least a smile. Therefore, I am including one of my artworks titled Laughing Horse.
When I show this artwork at an art show, I tell people that during one of my horse-riding adventures, this is an image of my horse…after I fell off!
| | Colorado Music Hall of Fame | | Recently, I was notified that the Colorado Music Hall of Fame has finally found a new home: the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. Unfortunately, most of the exhibits my company created for the Hall during its first seven years are no longer being used. These were featured at the Trading Post at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Possibly, some day in the future, they may once again be used if and when the Colorado Music Hall of Fame expands within the Colorado Convention Center, which is their hope and desire. Should you be in Denver, you may like to visit the Convention Center and view the exhibits on display, featuring the many talented musicians affiliated with Colorado. | Speaking of Colorado’s musicians and the Hall of Fame, a few weeks ago I saw a program on Channel 6 featuring Judy Collins. Collins moved to Denver when she was 10 and considers Colorado her home state. She was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame several years ago. Following is the exhibit seen during the induction ceremony, held at the Paramount Theater in Denver, prior to being moved to Red Rocks. Judy Collins did a live performance and It was a pleasure to get to meet her during the ceremony. | | Upcoming Shows and Events | | |

| | Steamboat Springs, Colorado | | During the second week of July, we took a family vacation, first to Ripple Creek Lodge near Meeker, CO, for a horse-riding adventure to Mirror Lake, then the rest of the week we spent in Steamboat Springs. | |
Memory Lane
Hanging above the fireplace in the Steamboat Springs condo was the famous poster that helped establish Steamboat Springs as a snow ski destination. This photograph was taken in 1972 as a promotion for the city that far exceeded expectations for success.
