Dear Barrington 220 Community:
It was wonderful to welcome back our students in grades 1-12+ today for the first day of school! While we are grateful for sunny skies, we are also closely monitoring the forecasted high temperatures for this week.
In order to ensure that everyone stays safe and comfortable, the district will keep AC units running at daytime levels overnight in order to prevent school buildings from heating up. In addition, we will make adjustments to outdoor recess, athletic practices, physical education classes, and after-school activities as needed. For your information, we have linked the following heat resource guide below which informs our decisions:
We will continue monitoring temperatures each day and will provide updates as needed. You can also check our district website, BHS athletic website, and school websites for updated information.
