JCRC/ADL – Supreme Court Review

The JCRC is hosting the ADL’s 23rd Annual Supreme Court Review program presented virtually in partnership with the National Constitution Center. Distinguished legal scholars and Supreme Court analysts Dahlia Lithwick, Erwin Chemerinsky, Gregory C. Garre, Frederick Lawrence and Melissa Murray will discuss the important cases of the term including voting rights, church-state separation, reproductive rights and immigration. They will also discuss the impact of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination and confirmation to the Court, as well as what to expect at the Supreme Court next year.
Participants are welcome to bring a brown bag dairy lunch. Drinks will be provided.
Participating attorneys can earn 1.5 CLE credit for attendance:

This spring, the American Red Cross experienced a severe blood shortage that had not been seen in the past 10 years and UAB alone canceled 600 surgeries. As the number of trauma cases, organ transplants and elective surgeries rise – and deplete the nation’s blood inventory we are concerned about the start of the summer and keeping blood on the shelves. So many people are working around the clock to meet the extraordinary blood needs of hospitals and patients but can’t do it alone. We are asking you to roll up your sleeve and help with this life saving need. If you would like to donate blood at Temple Beth El on July 13th, please CLICK HERE

Shabbat Halicha/Shabbat Hiking

One Saturday per month, in lieu of a regular Shabbat service at Temple, we will meet at Red Mountain Park to hike and spend Shabbat morning together. Led by Rabbi Wright and/or Cantor Wittner, we will spend one to two hours enjoying Shabbat in nature as we pause throughout the hike to move through parts of the Shabbat service.
