In these unfortunate times, I wanted to take a moment to share some positive thoughts!
I'm always amazed at how people come together in such special ways in such dire circumstances. Now more than ever, we need to rally around one another and help preserve a neighborhood and way of life that we all have helped build.
We are all experiencing unprecedented ramifications with COVID-19 Coronavirus. As you may know by now the city of Brookhaven took swift action to suspend all dine-in services for full service restaurants through March 31st. The decision of course was the right thing to do relative to public safety.
I've always believed that our success starts and ends with all of my family that work so hard and put their heart and soul into the experience that all of you enjoy while dining with us. Most of our family are now left in a position where there is no work available. I am expeditiously looking into ways to financially support them, but as you know when it comes to banking and government programming, restrictions come faster than actual support.
I want to personally thank all of our family, friends and supporters that are directly responsible for our success over the past 16 plus years. You, your family and your friends are the very reason why we have been successful throughout the years. We are so fortunate to have such special people that believe in what we've built in Brookhaven. As you know, it's challenging to keep a restaurant operating successfully in the best of economies. It's nearly impossible to succeed when sanctions and restrictions are imposed. We are approaching this entire ordeal head-on and have some unique offerings to share with you.
First, I would like to invite you to enjoy our specially modified take-out menus at all of our restaurants. Stephen and Matt have worked very hard to curate menu items that travel well and are a source of comfort during these trying times. Additionally, we are delighted to offer special discounted pricing from our wine lists. So, please enjoy some great food and wine in the comfort of your home and let's all hope that we can invite you back into our home soon. Moreover, we also have the capability of offering you all selections of bottled beer and wine. We knew that would certainly help during this challenging time.
Please contact our restaurants directly to inquire about specific menu availability, as both Vero and Valenza are also offering many items from their existing a la carte menus as well. We are also making provisions to allow you to order your items via email, and we will share those details shortly.
Since our sales have been significantly compromised during these restrictions, we have launched a GIFT CARD promotion that we hope will help generate some additional sales during this period. Purchase any gift card at $100 or more through March 31st and we will add a 20% bonus value to your purchase. We will also be contributing 10% of these sales to a GoFundMe page that will directly benefit all of our hourly employees. We will share more details on this front as we get this cause properly orchestrated.
Additionally, at this time we feel the need to implement a temporary change in gift card redemption. We are asking our guests to suspend redemption of all gift cards until April 15th. As soon as the Brookhaven restrictions are lifted we will resume the normal use of gift cards.
Right now information is crucial, and we will do our best to keep you informed and aware. Please keep abreast of our emails, and our updates on our social media platforms. We appreciate your support and loyalty, and to be quite candid, we need it now more than ever. As this ordeal continues to unfold, we will remain steadfast in being an avid part of this community, and we look forward to "getting back to normal" in the very near future. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy, and please continue adhere to the guidelines that the CDC has outlined concerning this pandemic virus.
