AWAKENING YOUR SPIRITUAL SENSES
As many of you know, I often go back to my old journals about the revelations that the Holy Spirit has shared with me over the years. Since I first began serving the Lord in 1984, I’ve been captivated by the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) From the very beginning I’ve spent much of my time fasting, praying and especially studying hours on end. One key principle that I learned was that our intimacy with God and our ability to hear His voice, is directly linked to our willingness to surrender our fleshly desires.
As we grow spiritually, the Lord will require more from us. But as we submit to His process, our lives will change like a butterfly going through the four stages of metamorphosis. From the first stage (the egg), to growth and development (The caterpillar) to radical transformation (the chrysalis) and finally, to emerging as a new creation, full of life and purpose, and becoming who God intended us to be.
After decades of seeking God, I now realize that I am just scratching the surface of His majesty and all that He has for me. The more I learn, the more I’m awed by His vastness and greatness. Just think, the Creator of the universe desires to communicate with us personally. All we need to do is be obedient and receptive. Just as the Apostle Paul said: we have to put on the new man, the new nature, and die to our old ways.
Most of you are blessed when I share the encounters that I had with the Lord because it resonates deeply. But a few of you may not understand because you may not be filled with the Holy Spirit or attuned to His ways yet. The truth is that the spirit realm is more profound than the physical world and Jesus will require for us to have new wineskins to carry this new wine. The old wine skin will not be sufficient to experience the new revelations that He has for us.
You may be a young Christian and you don’t believe that the Lord would speak to you. Back in 1990 I had a dream the night before I attended my church Faith Fellowship Ministries “International Pastors and Ministers conference.” I was only serving the Lord for five years at the time. I dreamt that I was walking by large prison like cages filled with people. They were shouting and cheering, urging me on, saying: “Run to Win, Run to Win”.
I also had another dream that night of my (late) pastor David T Demola wearing a dark brown suit and saying to me “He brought you out to bring you in to what He has for you” The next night I went to the conference. There was a powerful anointing present and the worship was phenomenal. After the worship my pastor began to prophesy about the Lord delivering the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. This is symbolic for Christians when we come out of the bondage of the world into the kingdom of God in Deuteronomy 6:23
He then prophesied the same exact words that I heard him say in my dream. He said a few words of encouragement, then he said: "He brought you out to bring you in to what He has for you” I remember like it was yesterday. Then Pastor Charles Nieman ministered, and after his message, he began to prophesy. He said: “Run to Win, Run to Win” and he repeated it several times. I was in awe at the fact that the God of creation would speak to me in such a personal way.
I understood that Jesus had a deeper purpose for me. He delivered me from a traumatic past so that I could rescue and release others who were in bondage and couldn’t get free on their own. I didn’t understand the full picture at the time, but I recognized the voice of the Holy Spirit. He wants to speak to every one of you no matter where you are in your walk with the Lord. He will speak through a multitude of ways.
Some of you have noticed a super sensitivity lately to things that are happening around you but you don’t understand why. You may have even wondered why there are places where you go that you sense extraordinary peace, and other places seem as if there is intense warfare when you walk into a room. Jesus is trying to get your attention. He is showing you things but you are not discerning.
The Holy Spirit is showing me even now that there is someone who said, “It seems like trouble follows me everywhere that I go.” That is not so. This is happening because you are now walking in a higher level of discernment, and you are beginning to discern spiritual things in the atmosphere. There are new levels available to those who are mature in their walk with Jesus, and some of you are being promoted to a new level of sensitivity.
Some of you are relying on human insight instead of seeking Jesus' guidance. The Lord is ready to shift you out of neutral and accelerate you forward with greater speed and purpose. Don’t let anything hold you back from advancing to new heights. For those of you who are in a spiritual slumber. It’s time to come out of your comfort zone and experience the fullness of what the Lord has for you. The Lord wants to awaken your spiritual senses. "It's time to come up higher!” says the Lord.
Deuteronomy 6:23
Then He brought us out from there that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.
Romans 8:9
You however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.”
