CAUGHT UP IN A VORTEX OF GOD’S GLORY
Last night as I was listening to worship music with my earbuds, I was caught up in the presence of God, It was as if I was wrapped in a cocoon, enveloped by the Holy Spirit’s glorious embrace. In moments like this, everything else fades away as I’m immersed in the Shekinah glory. The scripture ‘a mighty rushing wind’ came to mind, and then I heard the word ‘Vortex.’ I recalled times in meetings when the presence of God swept in like a whirlwind, with waves of glory swirling around the room, creating a spiritual vortex.
That may sound strange to those of you who aren’t Holy Spirit filled or haven’t experienced such an encounter with Him yet. I looked up the definition for the word ‘Vortex’ and found several meanings that fit what the Holy Spirit was showing me. A vortex is a mass of spinning air or liquid that resolves around a central point, creating a whirlpool or spiral motion. It could occur naturally, like in tornados or whirlwinds. The spinning motion creates a low-pressure area at the center, which can pull objects or fluids towards it.
It swirls and spins, creating a rotating motion around a central point. This generates intense energy, building power and momentum as it spins. It can transform, reshaping or reforming things that enter it, changing them from the inside out. The Lord then gave me two scriptures pertaining to this word vortex. The first is in the book of 2 Kings Chapter 2, Elijah asked Elisha, what may I do for you, before I am taken away from you? Elisha asked Elijah for a double portion of his spirit, essentially asking for a double portion anointing.
Elijah responded, “You’ve asked a hard thing but if you “see” me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you, but if not, it shall not be so” Elisha refused to leave Elijah’s side until he received his mantle. As they walked, suddenly, a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, separated them, and Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind. Elisha then took up the mantle that fell from Elijah, symbolizing his inheritance of the double portion anointing. I want to share a prophetic word that I had two years ago.
Many of you are still grieving the loss of spiritual leaders, prophets, mentors or loved ones who have gone to be with the Lord in recent years. Perhaps you’re still looking up, wondering why the Elijah’s (those who passed) were taken from us. The Lord showed me that many of the Elisha’s who have been following the Elijah’s will receive a double portion of their anointing. This will empower these prophetic sons and daughters to carry on the ministries of their spiritual mentors in the days ahead.
The anointing our mentors carried will accelerate, with their ceilings being our floors. A mantle of prophetic authority is being unleashed as prophetic voices rise globally, bringing a new sound and fresh revelation, while honoring the sacredness of this holy anointing. The spiritual breakthroughs our mentors reached will become the foundation for our own journey, allowing us to build upon and exceed what they achieved.
These emerging Elisha’s will operate in ministries marked by signs, wonders, and miracles as the anointing rests upon them and empowers their lives. Just as Elijah was supernaturally fed by the ravens, they will teach others how to trust God in times of famine. The Holy Spirit will lead them and give them supernatural wisdom and direction when the river dries up. They will decree a thing and it shall be established, because the Lord will confirm the words that He gives them to speak.
The anointing on their lives will be evident, just as the sons of the prophets recognized that the spirit of Elijah rested on Elisha (see 2 Kings 2:15). Mockers will ridicule them just as they taunted Elisha, saying, "Go up, you bald head!" (2 Kings 2:23). They were not mocking his physical appearance, but they were mocking his anointing implying he should ascend like Elijah went up in a whirlwind with fiery horses and a chariot. But once again the Lord will defend His messengers and prophets.
These Elisha’s will thwart the kingdom of darkness’ strategies and dismantle its destructive works. They walk in divine wisdom, release unprecedented revelation, and have keen discernment. They are tenacious and unwavering in their faith because they are filled with the Holy Spirit. They will follow Jesus closely and will not deviate off the narrow path. They are the ones who will receive a double-portion anointing. Supernatural encounters and signs will follow those who believe, and many shall be used mightily in the days ahead.
The second scripture that I received concerning the word “vortex” is in the book of Acts chapter two. On the day of Pentecost, the disciples were in the Upper Room when suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. They were filled with the Holy Spirit, and began speaking in other tongues, as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance. They were so intoxicated with the glory of God that some of the onlookers thought that they were drunk with wine.
Peter went on to say, these men are not drunk as you suppose, and he quoted the prophecy from Joel 2:28 -32. The winds are stirring and a vortex is forming. Get ready for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit. The next generation of prophetic sons and daughters, young and old are ready to step into their destinies, carrying forward the legacy of their spiritual fathers and mothers.
Acts 2:1-4
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2: 15 - 18
For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.
