As we closed this fiscal year in June, I began reflecting on how the year went and how much “good” we were able to do for our wounded and recovering service members and veterans.
It was a record year for OHT and brought us to almost $1.3 million donated since 2014. Needless to say, we are VERY proud of this and know it has been a TOTAL team effort. Something like this is never done alone.

We donated to 40 different organizations and made an impact on so many in need. We filled some critical gaps in care. Things like tires for a car that didn’t pass inspection. If the veteran, who suffers from PTSD and a host of other battle related injuries, lost the use of his car, then he would lose his job. And if he lost his job, his family, including six children, would have fallen apart. We helped provide transportation to veterans who live 10 hours away from a VA Medical Center, who otherwise were not able to receive the treatment they needed.

Perhaps the most impactful of all was the donation where we provided for 6 months of cutting edge treatment to bomb specialist Kenton Stacy, who, after a bomb went off, is now a quadriplegic who has sight in one eye only, cannot speak due to severe damage to his larynx, and has four children under 12 at home, one of which has cerebral palsy. To say this family has a lot on their plate and unbelievable stress is an understatement. (Stay tuned for a feature on this Navy bomb specialist in an upcoming newsletter). OHT is providing cutting edge treatment, when no one else would, to increase his chances of regaining use of his hands and arms. It would change his and his family’s life forever.

Now as we look to this coming year, we are extremely excited to see several things come to fruition –the launch of a major retail/ecommerce program with Colosseum and Fanatics; a new program with Boxercraft through Fanatics; a new partnership with Gold’s Gym; a new partnership with the Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR); a new partnership with Mossy Oak; and our commitment and growth of Warrior Ice Hockey programs.

Thank YOU for making all this possible. Never in a million years did I ever think that a simple idea would become a reality and a reality that would help so many in need. I encourage you to support OHT by making a purchase or a donation, follow us and share on social media, give through Amazon Smile and spread the good word about OHT. There is so much more to be done and YOUR help is much appreciated and makes a real difference for our veterans in need!
