Since I found you, you have birthed within me new ideas, wonderful emotions (mostly happiness) and awe. I am not only in mid-life but my only child is graduating from HS and I have lost my business. I still don't know what the next chapter will be and most of the time I am afraid. You have been the calm in my storm so often and I love you for that.

The Midlife Midwife™

bio portrait
The transition from Maiden and Mother to Queen and Empress can be a difficult one, fraught with hard lessons and lots of loss. It takes great determination and courage to confront and embrace the changes brought about by the midlife passage.
It can be really helpful during this confusing time to have the inspiration, advice and encouragement of a counselor/coach/mentor - someone who has been there and done that and is ready to help you do the same.
Queen Mama Donna offers upbeat, practical and ceremonial guidance for individual women and groups who want to enjoy the fruits of an enriching, influential, purposeful, passionate, and powerful maturity.

Your Crowning Achievement!

Crow Flag
Hail Queens!
We have been inundated lately on all fronts - economic, political, geophysical, meteorological, astrological, and spiritual - with threats of terror and trauma. These are indeed very scary times. What is at stake is our safety, our peace of mind, our centered inner selves, our very lives and the lives of all the species who share our planet home. Indeed, our Mother Earth, Herself, is very vulnerable right now.
What to do?
We can shrink in fear and wallow in our worries, just close down. Or we can use this time to work toward the expansion, openness, and love that we all know in our heart of hearts is possible.
Some might argue that we don't have any choice in this upside down dangerous world and that we can't affect what will happen. But even if we can't immediately alter the course of human events on the world stage, we can certainly create change in our own lives and in all of the lives that we touch.
Our thoughts are the seeds of that change. We know that worrying is like praying for what we do not want. Instead, let us put our intentions, attention, and energy toward what we do want.
So our first order of business must be to stay positive. To entertain only positive possibilities. To imagine only affirmative alternatives. To surround ourselves with wholly uplifting, life-affirming people and influences. To align ourselves solely with the greater good so that our actions will be born of only the finest of our best intentions.
What we all have to do from now on is to stay alert, stay centered, stay calm, stay connected, and most important of all, keep talking. Talking, writing, protesting keeps the light of truth and tolerance shining upon the hidden agendas of governments, corporations, institutions, and individuals. Silence, like the dark of night, shelters nefarious deeds. Silence forgives violence.
I am writing this on March 24, the day of the March For Our Lives, which was instigated and led by kids who refused to stay silent in the face of the forces of darkness. I am so impressed with their focus and determination to create change. Today, a week later, I am amazed, delighted and heartened at the positive effect that they are having across the country and around the world.
With blessings of the wisdom of children,
The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.

At The March For Our Lives
A Letter To My 12-Year-Old Self

Dear Donna,
I know you are miserable, sad, scared, angry. You are planning your escape. Good for you for even imagining it! But the time is not yet. Trust in time. Trust in your dreams. Trust that you will live a special life, and most of all, trust that you will finally find the power to fulfill your dreams. And surprise! That confidence and happiness is right there inside of you. It's there now, but I know you can't feel it. But I also know that somewhere in your sad little heart lies a smoldering coal of passion and presence. And in just a few years it will ignite and light you with the sheer joy of Self-love. With courage. With competence and confidence. This, I promise, will come to pass. I know this, because it has happened. I am you. And I am powerful and happy.

Teen Queens
Fifteen young girls dressed in bright red, pink, peach and aqua dresses and wearing sashes that read "No hate," "Equality" and "United Families held a quinceañera  on the State Capitol steps in Austin, Texas to protest the state's sanctuary cities ban.

A quinceañera is a coming-of-age celebration in many Latin American countries, similar to a sweet sixteen party in the United States. They are often grand affairs with formal dresses and large celebrations.

"In Latino culture, quinceañeras are an important tradition to bring families together to unite communities, to unite culture," said Magdalena Juarez, one of the girls who participated in the event. "Today we do that to protest [Senate Bill 4]."

I'm so grateful to receive the Chronicles ......always, but especially in particular this month. There's so much excellent material that I look forward to spending more time on than I have right now. The topic of self-cherishing/loving oneself is something I've been looking at (and hopefully taking in!) lately. Sincerely,
- Lynne, OR
It has taken me quite some time to reach a level of Self-love that enriches me and my life. I am thankful for your encouragement and support.

And we are glad to so. It is a joy and a privilege to share in the fortune of another woman. I recently heard Oprah say the saddest thing ever - "The hardest thing about being successful is having someone to be glad for you."

It takes a centered and confident Queen to break that pattern. There are 60 million thrones out there. One for each of us. There is plenty of purpose, passion and power for us all. May we use it well!
