Praying Together

As we continue to share stories from across Norfolk and Waveney, we'd love to encourage you to take a few minutes to meet Matthew and hear how God has been at work in his life. His story is a great reminder that God continues to call ordinary people in extraordinary ways.

Let's keep praying together

One of the most powerful ways we can be part of God's work is through prayer. As we seek to see God's Kingdom grow across Norfolk and Waveney, we'd love to invite you to join us in praying:

The STREAMS Prayer

God of our adventure, your Son, Jesus Christ, promises living water to those who thirst.

By the Holy Spirit, may your grace rain gently down upon our church communities.

May that water of life bless those who serve and lead, and remind us of our call in the waters of baptism to be disciples of Jesus, building your Kingdom in Norfolk and Waveney as in heaven.

Amen.

Here are three simple ways you could weave prayer into everyday life:

Pray while the kettle boils

The next time you put the kettle on, let the few quiet moments become an opportunity to pray. As the water slowly comes to the boil, bring to God a person, place or situation that's on your heart, asking Him to be at work.

Pray for where you are

Whether you're walking the dog, driving to work, collecting the children from school or popping to the shops, take a moment to pray for the people, streets and communities you pass. Ask God to bless your local area and show you where He is already at work.

Keep a prayer close at hand

Download and print the STREAMS Prayer Bookmark and keep it in your Bible, journal or favourite reading spot. Let it become a simple prompt to pray regularly for God's mission across Norfolk and Waveney.

Prayer Walks - join together in prayer

We're planning a series of prayer walks around the Diocese to pray for our mission strategy and for parish communities.

We have set aside the morning of Tuesday 1st September 2026 to do this. If you are happy to organise a walk of about 5 miles around your benefice or parish, please do get in touch with Revd Richard Lamey and let him know, at richard.lamey@dioceseofnorwich.org

The Aylsham and District Ministry Team already have a planned pilgrimage on Saturday 8th August and are walking the pilgrimage route from Sheringham to Trimingham. If you would like to join this walk, please get in touch with Revd Julie Boyd first at julie.boyd@dioceseofnorwich.org
