Students plan for an exciting 2024

It's 2024, and Literacy Network students have big plans for the year ahead. Teachers asked students to share their personal goals for this year. Here are a few things students said they are looking forward to accomplishing as they work to improve their literacy skills:

Voting in the 2024 presidential election after earning U.S. citizenship

Reading to a granddaughter who just turned one

Gaining typing skills for a job in healthcare

Improving reading comprehension and vocabulary for the driver's license written test

Helping a child with his math homework

Learning to write and read on a computer and read the bigger books at the library

This year’s spring event commemorates 50 years of Literacy Network. The evening will celebrate our first 50 years, as well as look toward the future. This event also includes an online auction in the weeks prior to the gathering, as well as a commemorative book featuring student writings.

Attendees gather over lunch to hear from students, volunteers, and other supporters about Literacy Network’s impact on the Dane County community.
