Putting Our Best Foot Forward!

Princess was born with an imperfect leg and abandoned because of it. GSRNC volunteers rose to the challenge and jumped into action to give her a new life...and a new foot!

Escaping the Camp Fire

Two years ago the deadliest wildfire in California history raged through Paradise. GSRNC alumna Bella (formerly Mary Kate) escaped with her family.

We love to hear about happy GSRNC adoptions!

Be Healthful, Not Harmful!
Give Thanks for Your Dog!

Skip the yams and marshmallows--instead, make a sweet potato treat for your pooch! As tempting as it may be, we have to be careful about sharing our holiday food with our canine pals. Don't spend your holidays at the emergency vet!

Dogs like to celebrate too, so why not make them a dog-friendly treat of their own? Here are two easy recipes courtesy of Zoetis Petcare. The first is a quick and easy recipe for home-made sweet potato dog chews (which we've tried and found that humans love them too)! The other is pumpkin dog cookies. Bone-appetit!

WAGS TO RICHES 2021!
Wags to Riches 2021 is a wrap! We held our first virtual fundraiser and raised lots of money for the dogs! Not having high-hopes during a pandemic, we set our goals modestly. Wow! The GSD community really came through and blew the top off of our goal thermometer!
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Wags. We appreciate your enthusiasm and patience during our (thankfully few) moments of technical difficulties!

We would also like to offer up a HUGE thank you to all of our event sponsors. Their extra donations helped us exceed our goals! All our sponsors (corporate and individuals) are listed here.

Take a minute to check out the donors who provided our silent and live auction items. Their generosity allowed us to have some fabulous offerings! Please support the businesses when you can.
CALENDARS ARE ON SALE!

The GSRNC 2021 alumni calendar is on sale now! What a great way to celebrate a new year. Twelve months of beautiful GSD pictures and the profits help us save more dogs. It doesn't get better than that!

Discounts are available for buying multiple calendars. Pssst, don't forget...they make great holiday gifts!

And speaking of holiday gifts.....
We have a limited supply of past Wags merchandise. What a great gift for your GSD-loving pals!

Sizes are limited so snatch 'em up before they're gone!

Check out the full list here.

VOLUNTEER TAILS

See Rescue through the eyes of our volunteers.

This month we hear from volunteer Joan H. She's worn many hats for GSRNC including the long-time role of Treasurer. Click here to read her story!
Stay calm and have fun with your dog!

Here's a fun childhood GSD memory from Megan E., a GSRNC volunteer!

GSDs have been part of my life since I was a little girl and I grew up with an amazing one. Her name was Sasha. She was smart, loving, protective and quite the character. We had so many special memories with her and she will always hold a special place in my heart. Every Christmas, Sasha loved to be right in the middle of opening gifts. She would always end up being surrounded by wrapping paper, boxes, ribbon, you name it. It always made us laugh, but I think she enjoyed it just as much as we did.

Christmas was always my dad's favorite time of year so I think it's only fitting to share a photo of him and Sasha.

We'd love to share your memory too! Send your GSD story to us at: [email protected].
