Aloha kākou!

We can hardly believe it's already August and the deadline to vote in the primaries is only 11 days away! By now, if you're registered to vote, you should have received your mail-in ballots. If you haven't received your ballot yet, please contact our County Elections Division at elections@honolulu.gov.

If you're not registered to vote and/or you didn't receive your ballot in the mail, it's not too late! Stop by Honolulu Hale anytime 8/1 to 8/12 from 8 am to 4:30 pm, or on 8/13 from 7 am to 7 pm. You'll be able to register and vote same day.

On another note, today, we wanted to share that we are so excited and humbled to have received the Star Advertiser's endorsement in the race for House District 26. The Star Advertiser only endorsed six (6) candidates in races against incumbents, and we are the only candidate endorsed who is new to the political world.
"[Wang] has garnered a resume of community and social-equity involvement; she brings a fresh sensibility to this race."
We want to bring a fresh new voice and perspective into government, and during this time where 97% of those polled are worried about the corruption in government, it truly is time for a change.

While we're on this topic, I wanted to share some of our recommendations on how to address corruption within government:
  • I support applying both the Sunshine Law and open records laws to the Legislature
  • I support banning campaign contributions to elected officials during session
  • I would like to create a process for both elected officials and the public to confidentially identify and share potential conflicts of interests
  • Since many bills are introduced "by request of another party," all bills should disclose who initiated the request
  • Committees should be required to vote publicly on the disposition of a bill, and provide a public record for the reason why the bill was introduced or killed

More information can be found in both our Civil Beat and Honolulu Star Advertiser questionnaires.
We also wanted to thank the Plaza at Punchbowl for inviting us to speak to their residents. We had a great conversation about addressing our cost of living and homelessness, and are so grateful to have had this opportunity to meet.

And finally, as we enter the last two weeks before primaries election day, we wanted to humbly ask and see if you might be able to donate $10 or $25 to our campaign. If you're ready for change, and ready to put our people first, we would love your help in getting our message out to the undecided voters... whether it be through a small donation or by helping us spread the word to your family, friends, and neighbors!
Thank you again for being a part of our story. We have absolutely loved every conversation we've had -- whether it be at your door, at the park, via email or phone, through text, or while you're driving by! Hope to see you out in the community soon!

Much mahalos,
Thank YOU
As we enter primaries month, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of our incredible volunteers and team.

It truly takes the biggest village to run a campaign, and ongoing, constant support from old and new friends & family are what make this work. We wouldn't be here with out the unwavering support of all of our volunteers and cannot express our gratitude and thanks enough.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of our incredible volunteers & team for your time, for your support, and for believing in us.
