About Us: 

Similar to the "General Store" of old, The WIP Theater caters specifically to Edison Park. Whereas theaters or similar venues located in tourist markets can get away with the same acts and shows every week, we will serve our neighborhood by rotating shows, styles and genres.

The WIP Theater is a BYOB venue, though soft drinks and light concessions are available. 

Columbia College Comedy Night! Tonight! 10/26, 8pm.

We are very excited to welcome you to 5C's first off campus comedy events. Nearly 20 members of Columbia's 5C have prepared a gut-busting set for your enjoyment. Hosted by Columbia's own Max Hewitt, it'll be 2 hours of jokes and laughter. Tickets are $10 at the door, or $5 with a student ID/ online when you use the promo code "Columbia.". The WIP Theater is a BYOB venue. 
Stand up Trivia Tuesday 10/27 8pm! 

Stand Up Trivia is Yes I Am's version of pub trivia which utilizes tv's to display the questions and answers. We use video, music and picture clues to help players answer our challenging questions. Hosted by the nations funniest comedians... Come play and laugh!!! 
Traffic Jam Open Mic Tuesday 10/27 10pm! 

Traffic Jam is the only open mic in the city where the audience controls the comics time based on laughter.  
Every comic gets a minimum of 3 minutes, the rest is up to you!
The Hump Day Cocktail Hour! Improv! 10/28 8pm! 

Join our Main Stage improv ensemble (Jeremy Barrett, Mike Capra, Brian Morrow, and Sean Mullaney) with special guests: OMG Improv! This evening of improv will leave you laughing and crying! Reserve your seats below and grab a bottle of your favorite poison--- and we'll save a seat for ya! 
The Best of Traffic Jam Showcase! 10/30 8pm! 

At The WIP we're dedicated to helping raw talent build and grow. We run an open mic every Tuesday called "Traffic Jam" and it's a huge hit. Comics from the deep suburbs, Chicago, and as far as Milwaukee make the trek every week to get on our stage.

For one night only we're opening up our stage for a showcase to show off some of our new funny friends.
Some of these comics have been around for a bit and are about to break out, some are brand new to the scene and are growing so fast!

Join us for an awesome showcase of local comedy! Bring some friends and family for these shows we're only charging $10 per ticket and it's BYOB so come out and support your comedy friends.

It's The Ronnie Ray Show! Friday 10/30 @ 10pm! 

Comedian Ronnie Ray brings his hilarious stand up, mixed with video sketches and Improv!! This is a great multi-media comedy event hosted once a month here at The WIP! 

Ronnie has been entertaining audiences for years as comic, actor, improviser and voiceover artist.  As a Stand-Up Comedian Ronnie has performed at such Stages as The Improv (Hollywood, Brea, Ontario, Irvine, Miami and West Palm Beach), The Laugh Factory (Hollywood and Chicago), Icehouse Comedy Club (Pasadena,CA) The Famous Comedy Store (Hollywood and La Jolla), Zanies (Chicago and Rosemont) and many other stages across the country. Because of his unique comedy style gave him the opportunity to become the first comedian to perform on Playboy TV and Nickelodeon.
