A Note From Our Co-Founders

There have been so many amazing things happening at Misión de Caridad it is hard to know where to begin. But first we give thanks to an amazing God, donors and supporters that make our work possible.

Moving into our own facility, Casa Esperanza, has been a tremendous blessing. It has allowed us to expand our programs to consistently serve the same families that attend our programs on a daily/weekly basis. Our goal is to get to know our families well, understand the aspects of poverty that they experience, and work toward solutions that will move them toward self-sufficiency. It is a long road, but one that will transform this community for generations.

We employ a regular staff of 30 people of which 34% are employed directly from our Casa Esperanza community!!

Employing our CE community not only provides an income opportunity for the families, but also models leadership and demonstrates a vision of what is possible. Our security guards, teacher's aids, cooks, and all of our staff have a sense of ownership, pride, and a significant amount of gratitude.

Our Program are Making a Difference!

Programs run all day every day Monday – Saturday. Each day we serve a nutritious meal, over 500 per week! Once a month we distribute 1.5 weeks worth of healthy groceries.

Relationships are forming

Our programs are working. We can see firsthand that families are healthier. Children are more energetic and more engaged. They are able to sit and learn for longer periods of time and focus in our education program. They are playing together and learning so many new things. It is truly transformative!

Mom’s are better understanding their own emotions and triggers, as well as learning how to better respond to the needs of their children. They are building a support network with one another and they are laughing and having fun.

What a difference from just one year ago when a bunch of strangers came to our programs and barely knew each other.

Now, we have a vibrant and thriving community that is learning and growing together.

Families are so thankful for this life changing opportunity to be a part of our programs.

In two weeks we will be running our 5th medical fair!! We are excited to track the results and report back our findings, but we are pretty confident that we will find fewer cavities, healthier habits, and families that are well on their way towards thriving.

We are excited about where we are and we hope you are too!
