The Granite YMCA and our mission is bigger than a building.

Dear YMCA Family,

As you may have heard, the Governor has extended the Stay At Home order until May 31, while also allowing some businesses and industries to open using a flex model that allows the Governor to increase or reduce these openings as data from the pandemic provides additional information. Some businesses, like barbers and hairdressers, campgrounds, and restaurants will be allowed to open, with many restrictions and beginning on different dates throughout the month. At this time, organizations like The Granite YMCA had not been permitted to reopen on May 4 as we had hoped. Instead, we will continue to provide and perhaps increase our COVID emergency services and virtual programming. If the data shows that the state is able to open more quickly, we hope that the Y will be included. As new industries are permitted to open, we hope that we can support them by providing expanded child care and other services that only the Y can provide.

First, we want to THANK YOU for your ongoing support of our Y. Our members, program participants and supporters are what keep us going, keep us strong, and keep us in service for those who need us most, especially during these difficult times. Since our mandated closure seven weeks ago, we have been refocusing our efforts, facilities, and resources, to proactively meet the most critical needs of our community.
Additional information we’d like to share:

  • ESSENTIAL CHILDCARE â€“ Are you or someone you know in need of high-quality childcare so you can continue your critical role in our community? Although our facilities are closed, we continue to serve our community by providing limited child care open to support essential employees in our community.

  • VIRTUAL SUPPORT – We want you to continue to stay active and stay healthy during this challenging time. Click here for at-home fitness options, healthy meal recipes, and even some ways to enrich your day and have fun.

  • NOURISHING OUR YOUTH â€“ We are providing grab and go meals to children in our community while Manchester schools are closed. If you know someone who is in need of this service, or you need more information, contact Jess Riendeau at jriendeau@graniteymca.org.

  • PLANS TO REOPEN - Our Senior Management Team has been meeting regularly to devise a comprehensive plan for reopening our Y. We will keep you informed as we continue our planning process.

Thank you again for your ongoing support. Continue to check your email, follow us on social media, or check our Covid-19 page on our website for our most current resources and communication.
Stay well,
