The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song is a moving four-hour, two-part series from executive producer, host and writer Henry Louis Gates, Jr., the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor at Harvard University and director of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research, that traces the 400-year-old story of the Black church in America, all the way down to its bedrock role as the site of African American survival and grace, organizing and resilience, thriving and testifying, autonomy and freedom, solidarity and speaking truth to power.
A light for our salvation
Our study was during Holy Week, so we considered the cross,
 using the image shown here.

God, we affirm Your sacrifice as a light for our salvation.
We know that we must carry the cross with humility and strength.
We wonder whether we are equipped for the mission,
And we doubt our resolve.
Our longing is to walk in the ways of truth, faith, and love.
So we pray for the possibility of illumination through Christ.

Another look at hand-dipped chocolate eggs
Our successful Hand-dipped chocolate peanut butter egg project would not have been possible without the mentorship and generosity of chocolatier Kevin Schmitz of The Marketplace Kitchen and the wonderful leadership and expertise of Joe Kolodziej.
Thank you to the whole Christ Trinity chocolate crew as well as those who purchased egg boxes for themselves and others, and those who made generous donations.
