Social media holiday alert
The much anticipated Carrollton City Schools digital Christmas card will hit social media platforms tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m. Last year's card went viral, and this year we expect even more engagement as community members agreed to participate with cameo appearances to make it even more fun. While we don't want to give details away in this teaser - here is one hint: Remember the favorite Christmas movie poll we posted over Thanksgiving Break?

CJHS students selected
for District 7 Honor Band
A bevy of Carrollton Junior High School seventh and eighth graders - and one sixth grader from Carrollton Upper Elementary - have the privilege of being selected for GMEA District 7 Honor Band and will a part of a group performance in February.

"Auditioning for district honor band is like a job interview," said Menendez. "You must be able to demonstrate your best even though you're under pressure and nervous. Our students learn tremendously from this and apply it to other aspects of their lives, whether they make the ensemble or not."

Menendez said more than 1,000 students auditioned for about 200 available honor band ensemble spots. She said this was an exceptional year of CJHS participation with 15 making the honor band and that the eight students who will be advancing to All-State auditions next year is extraordinary.  MORE

COMMUNITY
Grant provides Project SEARCH
students culinary experiences
The CCS Education Foundation provided a grant to Project SEARCH to support hands-on learning opportunities for CHS interns in the community. This week, the PS interns spent some time in the new CHS culinary lab learning essential skills with our culinary pathway students. This program is just one of many innovative efforts the foundation supports. It's not too late for you to support the foundation in return by making a tax-deductible online donation before end of the year.  MORE

It's time for an IC profile review!
We're halfway through the school year using a more streamlined approach to communicate with parents through Infinite Campus. To maximize its effectiveness, it is imperative family contact information we have on file is correct. We know this is a busy time of year, but if you could take a few minutes to review your information, the new year will be off to a great start! Please look at your profile in Infinite Campus to make sure we have the right phone numbers, addresses, and contacts to ensure you stay in the loop and always informed - especially critical as we enter the winter inclement weather season! If you need help with your login information, please contact your child's school when we return from the holiday break. Use the graphic above as a guide. And thank you in advance for taking the time!
