As we begin closing in on the end of 2020 (I think most everyone is ready for 2020 to be in the rear view mirror) we have some exciting announcements to end this interesting year on a positive!

First and foremost, please join me in welcoming Jennifer Geoghegan, MD, FACS to the amazing team at Gawley Plastic Surgery. All of the teams from Gawley Plastic Surgery, MDSkin Lounge + MDSkin Bar, and North Scottsdale Outpatient Surgery Center welcome Dr. Geoghegan with open arms! Her first day with us will be Monday, October 19th.
Dr Geoghegan has always been a respected
colleague of ours and has worked closely with both Dr. Gawley and Dr. Mahabir within the community of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Like Dr. Gawley and Dr. Mahabir she has a tremendous reputation for outstanding outcomes in cosmetic plastic surgery and breast reconstruction. Her addition to our practice brings a natural synergy and collaboration—the same strong focus on clinical excellence and client experience that both Dr.s Mahabir and Gawley have elevated and made the foundations of our elite practice.
Dr. Geoghegan earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Nursing before attending medical school at the University of Arizona. She then completed a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She also completed externships in Aesthetic Surgery, Microsurgery and Breast Cancer Reconstruction.
Outside of the operating room, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 21 years and their twin boys. They love traveling and recently hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro’s 19,340 feet. She is also currently mastering her Level 2 Sommelier certification. I can't wait for you to meet her!

The other important announcement relates to our annual fund raising event - the Gawley Gala.
We were deeply saddened when the decision was made to cancel this event due to COVID-19 group regulations. Our fundraising efforts for Don't be a Chump, Check for a Lump are more important than ever this year as this pandemic has devastated this non-profit's mission. Since the Susan G. Koman Organization no longer supports Arizonan women, this local charity is vital to our community. With a huge decrease in funding, they've had to end most all of their programs supporting women with a breast cancer diagnosis.
Please join us in meeting our donation goal of $50,000 this year. We wanted to reward our donors in some creative way and have designed an incentive in hopes of generating some excitement around your generous giving.
Based upon four different levels of giving, you can receive a credit at either MDSkin Lounge for future services or a credit at Gawley Plastic Surgery that can be applied to a future surgeon's fee. Just show us your receipt for a donation to Unicorn Philanthropy in the month of October 2020 and we will issue an account credit to Gawley Plastic Surgery or the MDSkin Lounge location of your choice.

What is FemTouch?
The FemTouch laser procedure is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure that uses CO2 laser energy to improve vaginal health.
Because it is non-surgical, there is no recovery required with a FemTouch treatment. Patients can return to their normal daily activities.
