Inclement Weather Days
As the weather gets colder we all know there is a possibility of an inclement weather day. If school is cancelled, live instruction will be provided via Google Meets. This will still count as a school day so it is important that students log on and participate. Students should be bringing their devices between home and school each day to ensure they are prepared.

Please take a few minutes to view our
GLA Inclement Weather plan/schedule. Teachers will be reviewing the schedule with students.
From the Nurse's Office
Due to the increase in COVID cases, our nurses will be using email to inform families when students are close contacts. We are working hard to contact trace and this is the most efficient way we are able to notify families in a timely manner. If you receive an email that your student was a close contact we ask that you respond to the email so we know that you received it. We appreciate your help to ensuring that all families receive this important information to keep everyone safe!
COVID vaccination status update
As more students get vaccinated, we ask that you please take a minute to update the COVID Attestation form with your child's vaccinations status. Updating this form will help us when identifying close contacts and quarantines. We appreciate your help with this! Please reach out if you have any questions.
Important Reminders
Our school day begins at 7:50 am. It is important that students are in their homeroom by this time or they are considered tardy. We appreciate your help in ensuring students arrive on time so that they do not miss important instruction.
MPS COVID Testing
Attention Middletown Parents and Guardians,

Beginning November 22, 2021, our school district will be rolling out randomized PCR testing for asymptomatic students and staff members. In collaboration with the RI Department of Health, this process will consist of weekly PCR testing for a percentage of our student body along with staff members who have already consented to COVID testing. If you have not filled out the COVID testing consent and would like your child to be involved in randomized pool testing, please submit the form below. If you previously submitted this form, and have now decided that you would not like your child to participate in randomized pool testing, please resubmit the form and notify the school nurse of this change.

COVID Testing Consent Form:

Thank you and please contact me or your school nurse if you have any questions or concerns.

Outdoor recess
As the weather gets colder, please be sure to send students to school with jackets, hats, etc. for outdoor recess. Students will be going outdoors as much as possible.
Quarantined Students
Important reminder...

If a student is quarantined due to being a close contact at school, asynchronous work will be provided to them via Google Classroom. Teachers will check in with students in Grades 4 & 5 at the beginning of the day and end of the day via Google Meets. If needed, office time or tutoring may be arranged with your child's principal.
