National Reading Month
March is National Reading month!
We have some exciting activities planned for our Gaudet Learning Academy students to encourage reading. We hope everyone will participate! The link below contains the calendar with all of our fun activities.

March Reading Madness
During the week of March 7th, we will be starting a March Reading Madness bracket. Our staff has chosen 16 books that students will have the opportunity to listen to and vote on. We will be sharing the bracket so families can follow along. Stay tuned!
A Message from the School Counselor
A Message from Mrs. McCarty
Hello,
Here is some great information regarding social media use. It states that it is for middle schoolers, and I know that our GLA students are not quite there but most of it still applies. We are currently seeing some challenges around cell phone misuse and social media so it never hurts to review your family's rules and expectations with your child(ren).

To support this, we are also partnering with our School Resource Officer, Officer Costa to host an information session for parents.

We hope you will join us for this important information session!
Middletown Wellness Month
Updated MPS Mask Policy
At the School Committee meeting on February 17th, the MPS mask policy was amended. As of March 4th at 5:00pm, masks are recommended, not required, in all MPS schools.
COVID vaccination status update
As more students get vaccinated, we ask that you please take a minute to update the COVID Attestation form with your child's vaccinations status. Updating this form will help us when identifying close contacts and quarantines. We appreciate your help with this! Please reach out if you have any questions.
MPS COVID Testing
Attention Middletown Parents and Guardians,

Our school district will be rolling out randomized PCR testing for asymptomatic students and staff members. In collaboration with the RI Department of Health, this process will consist of weekly PCR testing for a percentage of our student body along with staff members who have already consented to COVID testing. If you have not filled out the COVID testing consent and would like your child to be involved in randomized pool testing, please submit the form below. If you previously submitted this form, and have now decided that you would not like your child to participate in randomized pool testing, please resubmit the form and notify the school nurse of this change.

COVID Testing Consent Form:

Thank you and please contact me or your school nurse if you have any questions or concerns.
