Friends of Idle Muse ,

The health and safety of our audiences, artists, and theatre staff members are our highest priority. Like many other organizations, we are closely monitoring developments around the coronavirus (COVID-19) and have implemented safeguards and best practices as outlined by federal health authorities and state and local officials.

While there is no indication of direct risk in our community theaters at this time, we are taking additional precautions – including increasing cleaning, sanitation, supplying hand sanitizer stations and encouraging cast, crew, staff, and audience members who are sick to stay home.

In order to protect the health and safety of our community, we ask that all audiences observe the following preventative measures from the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH).

  • Wash your hands and cover your cough are the best ways to stop the spread of respiratory viruses, including cold viruses, influenza viruses, and novel coronavirus. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue away and wash your hands.

  • Try not to touch your face. Viruses enter your body through your mouth, nose and eyes; touching your face with unwashed hands is one of the best ways they spread.

  • Stay home if you are sick, unless you need to seek medical care. This will be the most important thing you can do to help stop the spread of COVID-19 if it begins circulating in the community. If you or your child has a fever, you should not be at work or school. If you have cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay home.

  • Idle Muse will be happy to offer you a refund or credit to see a show at a later date. Please contact our box office at (773) 340-9438 or [email protected]

  • Stay home if you have sick persons in your household or you have may been exposed to a community where COVID-19 has spread. Even if you are not currently experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, it will be possible for you to spread the virus. Staying home is the best way to protect others from exposure and illness.

As this situation continues to evolve, Idle Muse Theatre Company will be fully monitoring and following all directions from federal agencies and the City of Chicago Health Department.

Thank you, as always, for your support of Idle Muse and Chicago Storefront Theater.
