Dear APAP Members and Colleagues,

With COVID-19 updates continuing to flood our news streams, it's easy to feel helpless. As I have been connecting with colleagues across the field, one thing that gives me hope is how inventive, talented, empathetic and passionate performing arts professionals are by nature and how we are stronger together .

To that end, I want to mention two very important ways we can work together right now.

First, this Wednesday at 3 p.m. (EDT)/noon (PDT), APAP and the Alliance of Performing Arts Conferences are hosting a webinar, "We Are Stronger Together: Navigating Crises and Sustaining Healthy Relationships in the Era of Coronavirus" . We hope you can join us for this important field-wide conversation.

Second, APAP has joined the broader arts and nonprofit sectors in advocating for the performing arts booking, touring and presenting field in the wake of COVID-19 closures and event cancellations.

On Saturday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bipartisan COVID-19 relief package , and Congress is expected to turn its focus to business relief next. It's very important that we make the case for performing arts organizations and independent artists. We urge you to contact your Congressional representatives through our online campaign . You are also encouraged to engage your local Congressional staff directly .

You are not alone. APAP wants to hear how you are doing, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We will continue to monitor the situation and will share more information as it becomes available. We encourage you to forward this message to your colleagues.
