Dear Fellow Optimists,
I want to share an important update regarding the Optimistes Francophones Canadiens (OFC) Pilot Project. After thoughtful discussions with OFC leadership about the financial sustainability and future direction of the project, the Optimist International Board of Directors voted to conclude the pilot on May 1, 2025.
While this marks the end of this project, it is by no means the end of our connection with the Optimists of the former St Lawrence Region. As stated in the original Memorandum of Understanding, if the pilot is concluded, the members and clubs of that region revert to their original membership under Optimist International.
OI staff and leadership are committed to providing a smooth transition for the affected members and clubs. A task force is in place to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.
Our Optimist members and clubs who were administered under the structure of the OFC Pilot Project have always remained valued members. Optimist International welcomes them back with open arms, and we will all work together to meet their needs. We look forward to continued partnership with our fellow Optimists in this region and a brighter future together.
