Dear DiabetesSister,

In these trying times, I want to assure you that DiabetesSisters continues to be committed to our community. Our staff has worked remotely for several years, so in that regard, it is business as usual for us.

As you may know, our signature program is our PODS Meetups - in-person, peer-led diabetes support for women with all types of diabetes, with groups meeting across the United States. For the health and safety of our volunteer leaders, group members, faculty, Board of Directors, and staff, we are following the recommendations from the CDC and  have suspended all in-person meetings until May 31, 2020 .  We have also suspended in-person Minority Initiative Program meetings in New York City, Greater Miami, Chicago, Central New Jersey, and the Greater Washington, DC area. We will review CDC recommendations and extend these dates as needed.

We do know that, especially during this time, women living with diabetes need peer support. For this reason, we are providing our PODS Leaders with the option to hold their Meetups remotely, using DiabetesSisters online or conference call accounts.

Lastly, I'd like to pass along links to COVID-19 information and resources from credible sources you can trust:
Sincerely,
Anna Norton, MS
