In these unsettled times, I can't just continue business as usual. Too many lives have been lost, too many words have been shouted. I feel a need to reach out to others to listen, to learn, to reconcile, to create a path forward. A recent study from the Pew Research Center "On Views of Race and Inequality, Blacks and Whites Are Worlds Apart" provides a place to start a conversation. I urge you to consider what this study reveals and what we, each one of us, can do to address the challenges it exposes so starkly.

Where do we turn? From personal experience, I can attest to the transformative power of the YW Boston programs Lead Boston and the Race Dialogues . While ESC's recently announced Nonprofit Executive RoundTable (NET) was filled within ten days, I can imagine a second peer leadership group where ESC would bring together leaders dedicated to building a world free of inequality. Please email me directly at if you would be interested in such an endeavor.
Meanwhile, there are many other ways to connect and learn. Below you'll see a list of professional development opportunities in the New England area that we have come across that may be of interest.

Despite the pain in our hearts, I hope you're finding time to enjoy the summer. For me, the season means dinners on the deck, concerts in the park, gardening and tennis. However you do summer, I hope it restores you and helps you believe that positive change is possible if we work on it together.
