2018 Santa Cruz Mission Trip

Witness first hand the difference you are making in the lives of the
children at our flagship orphanage in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
June 29-July 8: The 2018 Hope Family Summer Trip is a perfect trip for those wanting a hands-on week with the children. Activities are tailored to your interests and abilities, to share with the children, and meet the needs at the orphanage.
HOHI Sustainability Program Update

HOHI’s Sustainability Program aims to help the orphanage become sustainable by identifying and teaching the children to create products that will be available for sale. In addition, they learn about business and sustainability when they sell the products and help to provide income for the orphanage. A portion of the sales is also set-aside for each student in a savings account, which they will have when they age out the orphanage and move on to independent living.

The two products HOHI is focused on are Sea Glass and Baking:
  • Sea Glass: The children make sea glass by up cycling bottles, and with the sea glass they create jewelry, cards and home decor items.
  • Baking: Many of our girls have been baking cakes, and this new program will provide them with supplies and educational tools to turn their craft into a sustainable program.
The link below will take you to our Amazon wish list. Simply make a selection from our wish list, and the Vision Trip Team will take the items you purchase to the orphanage. Please place your orders by April 25, 2018. With these items in hand, the children can continue to make products to help sustain the orphanage and themselves.
Founder’s Spotlight
Klimbing for Kids
October 3-9, 2018
Calling all climbers to the Klimbing for Kids challenge! Our founder, Alice Skaff is partnering with Pastor Bill Wilson, founder of Metro World Child this fall. Both ministries seek to provide hope for impoverished children around the world, and each has a "mountain of ministry" before them. They will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and raise funds for each of their ministries.

This once in a lifetime adventure will be October 3-9, 2018. It begins with the climbing of Mt. Kilimanjaro, world’s tallest freestanding mountain and the highest point in all Africa, and ends with a safari.
Watch for details in the April newsletter as to how you can join Alice on the climb, become a corporate sponsor or support her fundraising goals.
