As the President of the newly elected Board of Directors, I wanted to pass some important information along to all alumni.
First, the current Board of Directors was elected in November of 2015 in accordance with the Association By-Laws, for a two-year term, which began on 1 January 2016. The current Board consists of members from the previous Board as well as newly elected members.
Second, many of us have served with the Alumni Association previously and are excited to be back. We look forward to implementing positive changes for the benefit of the members, while acknowledging the many contributions of the Board which recently finished its term.
Third, the Board and volunteers will be working diligently to make this organization one you can depend on for information and activity. To that end, I want to announce our Annual Meeting and get together on October 8, 2016 at the Armory in Chapel Hill. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
The new Board is working to coordinate numerous administrative demands, and things are moving along, albeit not as quickly as we would like. In addition to most of us having day jobs as well as serving the Association, we are also working to resolve an unanticipated issue with our Constant Contact account. Together, all of this has delayed more timely communication.
Look for a new website, a better, new, and more informative newsletter and more timely communication in the coming months.
