A Message from the Rector Search Committee
Dear Parish Family,

The Search Committee met with the Canon to the Ordinary for The Diocese of Southwest Florida, Canon Norman, on Thursday, January 21, 2021. At that meeting, Canon Norman handed over to the Search Committee nineteen candidates who have been approved by Bishop Smith.

Each candidate was sent an introductory letter from the committee Co-Chairs, along with a list of questions that are to be answered in writing and returned to the committee by Friday, January 29. After receipt of this information the committee will review each of the candidates' answers. The Search Committee met on Tuesday, January 26, to begin a preliminary review of all the information received so far.

In addition to reading all of the material received, the committee has the good fortune to be able to review liturgies and sermons for many of the candidates online. The St. John's Search Committee is now meeting weekly, by way of Zoom, as we move forward in our search process.

Please keep the St. John's Search Committee, and the candidates, in your prayers.

Faithfully,

Paul Brokaw and Jan Kelley
Search Committee Co-Chairs
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP, p. 818)
