An Act to Restore Access to Federal Laws Beneficial to the Wabanaki Nations
This legislation would amend the portion of the Maine Indian Claims Settlement Act that specifically excludes the Wabanaki Nations from the federal Indian laws that have benefitted the other 570 federally recognized tribes: laws meant to improve public health, recover from natural disasters, and promote economic development.
