Dear LSU Vet Med Alumni,

We had positive exchanges during our Zoom meetings on Dec. 14 and 19 during which we discussed class composites. I extend my heartfelt thanks to those who participated. Together, we arrived at a good-faith compromise to honor our alumni and our school’s history. We wish to celebrate our alumni in meaningful and lasting ways. We truly do take to heart the feedback we have received and are already at work implementing several suggestions.

To that end, we will:

1. Designate the current composite wall the “Alumni Wall,” to be named more specifically by means of an electronic voting process soliciting possible names.

2. Hang original composites in a prominent location to celebrate milestone years.

3. Provide high-quality images of rotating composites on multiple displays.

4. Place displays in the Stephenson Pet Clinic and Large Animal Clinic.

5. Convene an Alumni Working Group to choose imagery for a historical timeline on the Alumni Wall.

When you enter this school, we want you to have a visible touchstone to return to year after year with your classmates, former professors, and families. We will do all we possibly can to make sure that the Alumni Wall is something you will be proud of.

Each and every one of you, along with those who taught you, form the bedrock of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Nothing will ever change that fact.

With every good wish for happy holidays,

Oliver
