As the year comes to a close, we reflect on ArtWorks’ mission: to create community-based public art while providing career opportunities for artists of all ages. Because of your support, ArtWorks continues to be an integral part of Cincinnati’s cultural fabric 28 years and counting. Thank you!
2024 was a bold year of firsts and milestones, including the following highlights:
Named #1 City for Street Art in America
For the first time, Cincinnati earned the #1 spot in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards for street art, due to ArtWorks' 300+ permanent outdoor murals across the Queen City.
Celebrating Diversity through Art
We made a commitment to create more projects that celebrate the cultural diversity of our region. Some notable murals completed this year include:
- "Let There Be Light" celebrating Jewish culture
- "Azucar!" honoring the Latin community
- "The Lotus Mandala," an homage to Indian heritage
Creative Campus Construction
Construction of our new Creative Campus in Walnut Hills is nearly complete! ArtWorks' permanent headquarters and the ArtPark across the street will be dedicated at a publication celebration on April 26, 2025.
Expansion of Services
ArtWorks introduced a year-round Photo/Video Studio in 2024, led by a Photo/Video Studio Manager and five Studio artists, allowing us to better serve the needs of the Greater Cincinnati community.
First Black Art Walk
In collaboration with City of Cincinnati and community partners, we launched the inaugural Black Art Walk in honor of Black History Month. Due to popular demand, a second walk was held in July.
