Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering Launched in Fall 2021 
The College of Engineering is building on the success of its environmental engineering graduate program by offering a new Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering degree. The undergraduate program’s inaugural semester was in the Fall 2021.
Planned Center of Excellence in Environmental and Oceanographic Science at USF St. Petersburg to Support Environmental Engineering Research
Part of the proposed $80 million project is a new building, the Environmental & Oceanographic Sciences Research & Teaching Facility, which would provide state-of-the-art research and instructional space for graduate and undergraduate students from the colleges of Marine Science, Arts and Sciences, and Engineering.
Sum Lab Navigates the Future of Transportation
The lab undertakes projects that examine mobility-related issues from the ground up, ranging from pedestrian safety and road pavement studies to using machine language to manage aviation assets and promote airspace safety by predicting conflicting trajectories.
Online Engineering Programs Rank High in USNWR Graduate Program Rankings 
The master of science program for information technology ranked No. 14 and the engineering management program ranked No. 30. 
Six Engineering Faculty Receive Outstanding Research Achievement Awards
The annual USF Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Awards are part of an open competition, judged by the USF Research Council, to highlight professional acclaim received by the recipients from their national and international peers for their research. 

Engineering Faculty receiving 2021 Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Awards: Hadi Charkhgard (IMSE), Richard Heller (MedEng), Mark Jaroszeski (MedEng), Autar Kaw (ME), Mehran Mozaffari Kermani (CSE), and Christopher Passaglia (MedEng).
Five Engineering Faculty receiving 2022 Excellence in Innovation Awards
Faculty recognized were Jing Wang (EE), Attila Yavuz (CSE), and Sarah Zhong (ME) as well as Richard Heller and Mark Jaroszeski (both MedEng) received the Team Award.  The Excellence in Innovation Award recognizes faculty for their accomplishments in moving inventions to market through creating new startups and commercializing their technologies and by advancing research and development through publishing in peer-reviewed journals and securing grants to support their projects.
College of Engineering Faculty named AAAS Fellows for Academic Research
Three COE faculty have been named AAAS Fellows - Norma Alcantar (CHBME), Richard Heller (MedEng) and Delcie Durham (ME).
Four Engineering Faculty Elected Senior Members of NAI
The newly elected faculty members have devoted their careers to inventing high-tech tools for a myriad of applications and blazing a trail for the next generation of innovators.
