Let me introduce Dr. Alyssa Cote!

Adding Dr. Alyssa Cote to our team is a significant step towards growing our services. Starting in August, Dr. Cote will be available twice weekly at WCHS’s Pet Wellness Center, providing invaluable care to pets and their owners.

Dr. Cote's journey to becoming a veterinarian is a testament to her passion and dedication. Born and raised in Bellows Falls, Vermont, she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont before pursuing her dream at Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine.

Her love for animals was evident even in her early years, as she volunteered at the shelter in various roles, from cleaning kennels to assisting in surgeries throughout high school, college, and Cornell.

Dr. Cote will perform spay/neuter surgeries, examinations, vaccinations, and routine diagnostics as part of WCHS's Pet Care Assistance program. This program offers low-cost or free care to owned pets when their owners are facing financial hardship.

Thank you to the donors who give to the Pet Care Assistance program.

These donations reduce the cost of veterinary care and supplies for clients and ensure that animals get the services they need to be healthy and pain-free.

The Pet Care Assistance program helps animals like Holly.

Holly and her human met at WCHS ten years ago. Today, she is 15, and her body shows signs of advanced age. Masses grow under her skin, requiring frequent draining to make her more comfortable. Her human brings her to WCHS to have this done.

The funds for these visits come from the OC Tober Fund - a donor-established fund designed to help people care for their pets.
