To my neighbors,

A warm welcome back to school to all our students, teachers, and families across the community. I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful summer break, and had some new and exciting adventures. 

I still remember the feeling of excitement every time I went back to school! And a little nervousness, too. To me, the start of the school year represents a time of opportunities and new beginnings, making new friends and learning new things. 

It was a real pleasure to mark the start of the school year at the ribbon-cutting for the new Central Middle School. When I served as State Representative, I worked alongside my colleagues Representatives Meskers and Arzeno to secure about $20 million for its construction. So it’s great to see the beautiful, finished product - an amazing, state-of-the-art facility! Old Greenwich and Julian Curtiss schools have also been undergoing a lot of work to make sure they are ready to welcome students.

I think it’s going to be a great school year and I wish you all the very best!

Help a Greenwich Child Start School with Confidence

The Greenwich Department of Human Services Fund’s Boots & Shoes Program provides footwear assistance to Greenwich children from income-eligible families, helping them start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn. Last year, the program helped 185 local children get ready for the first day of school. With the continued support of our community, they hope to help even more students this year.
