Happy New Year to all!

With so many wonderful and meaningful holidays in December and January, we wish that all of our readers will have time to spend with their families and friends, celebrate old traditions, appreciate new experiences, enjoy hearty meals and, most importantly, have time to tell the people that matter in our lives that they do!
We appreciate our readers, members, and friends of ASCH, and look forward to seeing you at the Annual Meeting. Make sure to stop by the Herald sign at the meeting. As a token of our appreciation, be ready for a pleasant surprise!

Melvin A. Gravitz , PhD, ABPH

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Melvin A. Gravitz , PhD, ABPH on December 17, 2017.

Dr. Gravitz was a Past President of ASCH, a past Editor of the ASCH Newsletter, and a past Editor of the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). His many contributions to ASCH were much appreciated, and he will be greatly missed.

ASCH member and past Plenary Speaker Michael D. Yapko, PhD has a new book out:

"Taking Hypnosis to the Next Level: Valuable Tips for Enhancing Your Clinical Practice"
Being convinced that true wisdom comes from the determination to learn, experiences of successes and failures, and the ability to make sense of it all, we can only admire the life long experience that Dr. Yapko is sharing with us.

ASCH could not agree more with the very last tip in the book: " all you can to inform people about the merits of hypnosis and all it has to offer in people's quests to improve their physical and mental health, relationships, and the quality of their lives".
ASCH member F. Ralph Berberich, MD has also released a new e-Book:

"Suggestion Language in Medical Care: How to Talk to Patients to Promote Trust and Cooperation"

In "Suggestion Language in Medical Care: How to Talk to Patients to Promote Trust and Cooperation", Dr. F. Ralph Berberich explores the impact of language and its nuances as it applies to those giving patient care.

Happy reading!

On a Lighter Note

"I don't need a holiday or a feast to feel grateful for my children, the sun, the moon, the roof over my head, music, and laughter, but I like to take this time to take the path of thanks less traveled."
