A new year brings new opportunities to do more

Dear Emmanuel,

I hope you and your loved ones are staying relatively dry amid this crazy weather and had a safe and wonderful holiday week. May 2023 be your most prosperous year yet.

We closed the books on one of our most successful years in our history and we have so much to look forward to in 2023. Our staff is ready to meet every challenge and care for every community across Ventura County.

In this newsletter, you'll read about how friends like you set us up for success by supporting us during our most successful year-end fundraising campaign to date. We raised 5 times the amount we raised in December 2021! We are so grateful for you for believing in our mission and supporting our programs and services.

You'll also learn how you can stay involved with us by following us on social media and signing up to take a tour of our facilities. As we do more in 2023, we invite you to keep up with us on all of our platforms, by reading and sharing this newsletter, and by seeing our work up close.

Finally, you'll see how our Homeless Services team made the holiday that much brighter for our unsheltered neighbors. Thanks to generous friends from the Miracle Center church and others, we were able to distribute clothes, gift bags, and provide warm breakfasts for those in need.

I wish you and your loved ones continued good health and safety.

Our most successful year-end campaign to date!

All December, we asked our friends to support our year-end fundraising campaign as we look to do even more to care for Ventura County in 2023. With government funds we used to expand our programs ending, we needed help to ensure we can sustain our high level of care.

Our friends like you responded in a huge way. We raised over five times what we raised during this campaign in 2021!

These funds will directly support our programming and services as we continue to build reserve funds to do even more for our communities in 2023 and beyond.

We are so grateful for supporters who believe in our staff and our mission. Thank you for making this campaign such a success!

We're counting up our 2022 data

We're still finalizing the data from our busiest year to date! 2022 was a year in which we did more than ever to uplift, support, and care for Ventura County families and communities. We cannot wait to share with you the work that we did last year.

In the meantime, here's a quick look at our 2021 data. 2021 was a great year that laid firm foundation for the hard work we did in 2022.

Our Homeless Services team brought holiday cheer

This holiday season, our Homeless Services program team went above and beyond to care for our unsheltered neighbors. During the week of Christmas, we provided holiday bags for over 40 unsheltered clients. The holiday bags included hygiene kits, gloves, a beanie, a small backpack, PPE, socks, a warm blanket, and more. The holiday bags were made possible by generous donors and collaboration from The Miracle Center of Ventura church. A special thanks goes to Amanda, Michelle, and Latrice from the Miracle Center for their partnership and making this possible!

On a morning to follow, our amazing Homeless Services team led by John Garcia and Anthony Camper greeted another 40 unsheltered neighbors. John, Anthony, and our team of wonderful volunteers served a warm breakfast of pan dulce, coffee, tamales, rice, and beans. We are so grateful for the family whose generous donation funded the breakfast we could serve.

Start your new year with us on a tour!
